Biography

Pedro Velho received a Ph.D degree in computer science by the Grenoble University, France in 2011. His research career started in 2000 receiving a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science in 2004 and a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science in 2006 by the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS/Brazil). He is currently working with Prof. Phillipe O. A. Navaux as post-doctoral researcher studying modelling alternatives to simulate power consumption and performance of CPU+GPU hybrid applicaitons at UFRGS. He is currently attached to SONGS (Simulation Of Next Generation Systems) and the CNPq/Brazil post-doctoral program. He is also an active member of the Latin America HPC research network staffing the committee of the two main scientific manifestations in this scope: CLCAR (Conferencia Latino-Americana de Alto-Rendimiento) and SC-Camp (Super Computing Camp). His research interest areas are: parallel and distributed computing, performance evaluation and simulation.
